We pay a fair and attractive salary. During your first year of vocational training, you will earn approx. EUR 1,300 (gross) a month, and this figure increases annually. In addition, we provide a host of other benefits and operate a company pension scheme.
As a vocational trainee, you are given 16 free journeys within Germany a year. You are also given further travel discounts such as the DB job ticket for your commute to work.
If you have to move because of your vocational training, we can offer you a monthly rent subsidy of up to EUR 350 - under certain conditions.
Our technical/industrial vocational trainees are also given a tablet at the start of their training. Commercial vocational trainees are given a laptop at the start of their training.

As a concrete and reinforced concrete worker, you work on exciting, varied, and electrifying new build and conversion projects across all of Germany.

As an electrical fitter within Electromechanical Engineering, you are the expert for the assembly and installation of systems for power supply technology, control and regulation technology, as well as signaling and lighting technology. You ensure that our systems and operating equipment and facilities are always maintained and ready for operation.
This vocational training course lasts three years. During this time, you will learn the latest, high-security techniques for assembling, adjusting and installing switchgear, such as switch settings and lighting systems at railway stations. As a construction equipment operator with an additional qualification in trackwork engineering, you are the “racing driver” at every track building site of DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH. You operate the on-track machines of the largest and most modern fleet of on-track machines in Europe. You also clean and tamper the ballast in the track bed, insert new ties and entire rails in a fully automated way, and are also responsible for the maintenance of the technology on site. Your activities will assist the teams laying tracks and installing overhead line, thereby contributing to the safety of rail systems throughout in Germany and Europe.
During your three-year vocational training, you will acquire basic skills in metal processing, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical engineering. You will also deal with the basics of trackwork and our own on-track machines. You will gain a class B driving license and will become a certified excavator and loader driver. This means you will be able to operate any earth-moving machinery across Germany and Europe.
