Steer your future as a construction equipment operator.

As a construction equipment operator with an additional qualification in trackwork engineering, you are the “racing driver” at every track building site of DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH. You operate the on-track machines of the largest and most modern fleet of on-track machines in Europe. You also clean and tamper the ballast in the track bed, insert new ties and entire rails in a fully automated way, and are also responsible for the maintenance of the technology on site. Through your work, you support the trackwork gang, thereby contributing to the safety of the railroad tracks in Germany and Europe.  

During your three-year vocational training, you will acquire basic skills in metal processing, mechanics, pneumatics, hydraulics, and mechanical engineering. You will also deal with the basics of trackwork and our own on-track machines. You will gain a class B driving license and will become a certified excavator and loader driver. This means you will be able to operate any earth-moving machinery across Germany and Europe.

We are currently offering the vocational training at Hanover, Königsborn, and Magdeburg. From 2021, we will also be offering the training in Augsburg and Berlin.

As a construction drafter at DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH, you provide the framework for our construction projects. You actively contribute to the successful realization of projects with your drawings and plans. In a collaborative approach, you actively shape the path of DB Bahnbau Gruppe GmbH, for example, with your calculations for building materials and construction methods.

During your three-year vocational training, you will learn how to create drawings and plans under the instruction of our engineers. At the same time, you will practice calculating the necessary building material requirements, and will learn how to create building applications, as well as structural engineering documentation for structures with special computer programs.

Furthermore, you will learn how you can check the structural implementation, and keep an overview of requirements, costs, and invoices.

As an industrial electronics technician, you are at the center of the action. You work outside in the field of control-command and signaling, and lay signal cables as well as install switching devices.

In your three-and-a-half-year vocational training, you will become familiar with the new build, expansion, and conversion of electrical systems. Our electrical systems include, for example, electronic interlocking systems, rail crossings, and power supply systems. From the second year of the program, you will be working on different construction sites all over Germany.
